A plastic pyrolysis project is not only about heating plastic waste and collecting oil. The composition of the feedstock directly affects how the gas, liquid and wax components behave during the process.
For some plastic streams, especially those containing high levels of PE or PP, wax formation and condensation efficiency become important factors when designing the production line.

Why Can Plastic Composition Affect Wax Formation?
Different plastics produce different thermal conversion characteristics.
PE and PP are commonly evaluated for plastic pyrolysis because they contain hydrocarbon structures suitable for conversion into oil products. However, during the cooling process, some heavier hydrocarbon components may condense into wax.
Therefore, a plastic pyrolysis dewaxing system may become an important part of the configuration when the feedstock has higher wax-forming potential.
The purpose is not to add dewaxing equipment to every project, but to match the condensation route with the actual plastic composition.

The condensation section determines how effectively oil components are separated from pyrolysis gas.
A suitable condensation system for plastic pyrolysis needs to consider:

- Oil collection requirements
- Pipeline protection
- Operating stability
If condensation conditions do not match the feedstock, wax accumulation may influence equipment operation and maintenance requirements.
